Almost everything you read here was written by an AI. This page explains exactly how, because you should be able to judge what you are reading.
How an article gets here
- Material is gathered automatically: recent research from PubMed, and talks by doctors and researchers working in metabolic health
- A language model reads that material and writes an original article from it. It does not translate, summarise or copy — the words and the structure are new
- Every article is written against an editorial position that a person wrote and maintains. That position decides what qualifies as worth covering and how uncertainty is described
- Claims that cite a study are checked against Crossref before publication, and anything that cannot be verified is removed rather than printed on trust
- A consistency check compares each new article against what this site has already published. An article that would contradict an existing one is held rather than published
- Articles publish without a person reading them line by line first
The illustrations
Every photograph on this site was generated by an AI. None of them shows anything that exists. They are chosen to be recognisably about the subject of the article, and they are not evidence of anything.
The Finnish version
The Finnish articles are machine translations of the English ones, produced by a language model working to a written style brief. They are not proofread by a native speaker. Where the Finnish and the English disagree, the English is the original.
What a person does
- Sets and maintains the editorial position — what this site argues and what it will not cover
- Chooses the sources
- Writes some of the articles to a brief, and corrects the automated ones when they are wrong
- Takes responsibility for what is published here
Why it is labelled
From 2 August 2026, Article 50(4) of the EU AI Act requires anyone publishing AI-generated text on a matter of public interest to say so. Health is such a matter. The exemption for content reviewed line by line by a person does not apply here, because that review deliberately does not happen — so the label does.
The mark on each article is the European Commission's own icon for content AI helped create. Using the icon is voluntary; disclosing is not.
What this means for you
Read it as you would read anything: check what matters to you. Every claim that rests on research carries its citation, and the position this site takes is stated openly rather than hidden behind a neutral tone. Nothing here is medical advice, and nothing here replaces a conversation with your own doctor.
